Tuesday night in the Meadowood neighborhood was our first Neighborhood Forum. These Forums are our effort to bring talents and skills from across Madison together to improve neighborhoods: a people to people approach to community. Our group of 20 shared ideas and experiences in how to get people involved and engaged and find funding for neighborhood projects. Our speakers Mary, John, and Jessica talked about mosaic stones in Marlborough community gardens, an art installation under University Ave, and a temporary art event on the Yahara River at a summer river festival. Their stories highlighted the many partners that every neighborhood project needs to be successful. We left with many more questions and have only just started learning from each other. More events to come to bring neighborhoods together!
