Milwaukee unveils new bike plan: 125 miles of lanes and 47 miles of boulevards

The road map for improving the routes for cyclists in Milwaukee through 2020 will be shared with the public at an informational meeting Wednesday night from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Zeidler Municipal building, 841 N. Broadway St.

A quick look at the executive summary reveals this underpinning: an increase in the city’s bicycle network from 116 miles to 295 miles. That includes 125 miles of new bike lanes and 47 miles of bike boulevards, or routes on quiet streets with bump outs and other structures to slow motoring traffic.
