With plans to study the viability of a central Wisconsin bus system still on hold, organizers of a statewide carpool initiative are working to promote the project in the Wisconsin Rapids area.
RideShare, a statewide program funded by the Department of Transportation uses an online database to match up people with similar starting and destination points and times, said Jacklyn Bodette, a mobility manager at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin, which administers the local program.
