Cleaning up waterways

Water Policy Director Kate Morgan continues to help clean up waterways in southeastern Wisconsin by using green designs.  Here are some examples of effective ways to deal with stormwater.

A vegetable garden in your front yard can be planted as an alternative to turf grass.

Native plants in bio-swales can remove silt and pollution from surface runoff water.  This one was installed in Shorewood to absorb stormwater and keep it out of the sewer system.
