David Salmon

David Salmon is the Transportation Coordinator for the City of Sun Prairie. In his role, David is responsible for implementing the City’s adopted Active Transportation Plan and Vision Zero Safety Action Plan as well as overseeing all transportation related policies and programs including Public Transit such as Metro Bus Service and Paratransit Service. David serves as the Association of Bicycle and Pedestrian Professionals – Wisconsin Chapter Leader, the American Planning Association – Wisconsin Chapter Transportation Planning Division Co-Liason, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Janesville Community Center.
David received his Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from UW-Madison, working on a project that integrated public health into long-range planning for the City of Janesville’s Comprehensive Plan. Committed to planning healthier, more active, and more just communities David brings lived experience as a non-driver, and remains determined to reduce barriers for residents of Sun Prairie in living a high quality of life without the need to own a car. In his free time, David is working to restore native prairie and woodland habitat at his home near Warner Park in Madison, and spending quality time with his three cats, one dog, and girlfriend Selva.
