Raphie Torralba
Transportation Policy Analyst

Raphie (she/her) joins 1000 Friends of Wisconsin with a Master’s in Public Health and a background in community-centered programming focused on health education, food access, and environmental stewardship. As a population health fellow at Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, she coordinated family-based and outdoor education programs in communities where many face limited support navigating their food environments or access to safe green spaces. She also conducted a community needs assessment, which examined how transportation and other social factors affected access to essential services for patients and community members in the health center’s service area. That boots-on-the-ground work deepened her commitment to advocating for an equitable transportation system in Milwaukee that supports connection, resilience, and access to the resources and spaces people need to thrive.
You may find Raphie spending her free time preparing delicious home-cooked meals, practicing fiber arts (knitting and crochet!), or exploring markets and festivals across Milwaukee.
