About the Event:

At the upcoming meeting, Christof Spieler will discuss his new book, Transportation and the Shape of Cities (2026), with a focus on Madison’s evolving transportation network.

Drawing from the book, Spieler will explore how transportation shapes cities. Transportation and the Shape of Cities examines five major modes of transportation in the United States—from walking and bicycling to automobiles, trains, and transit—and how they influence urban design and community development.
