Reimagining Wis- 175: Public Meeting 2 April 30

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is continuing their study to Re-imagine Highway 175 with a second public meeting. The project team will present initial redesign concepts for public feedback. Please mark your calendar and join us to advocate for a better future for Milwaukee.

Tuesday April 30th 4-7pm
Washington Park Senior Center
4420 W Vliet St, Milwaukee, WI 53208

1000 Friends of Wisconsin and our partners in the Coalition for More Responsible Transportation included the recommendation to replace the Stadium Freeway spur Wis-175 with an at-grade community-oriented roadway in our Fix at Six report. We are delighted to see this study evaluating that change and hope to see design concepts that truly reconnect Milwaukee’s communities.

The primary items we hope to see are:

  • Trails connecting neighborhoods and parks into a comprehensive system.
  • Considerations for a dedicated transit service running along the corridor all the way to West Milwaukee.
  • Increased housing and commercial development oriented around the transit service and regional parks.
