After more than a decade of on-and-off again decisions, WisDOT has decided to expand I-94 to eight lanes.
Our coalition is extremely disappointed by the news and we continue to believe that expansion is an environmental, social, and fiscal mistake. Our Fix at Six proposal was popular with neighbors, local leaders, and state representatives.
The battle is not over yet, there are two public meetings on Dec 12th and Dec 14th where the public can share their thoughts. In the end, even if the highway is expanded, our coalition is proud of the positive changes we brought to the project including the Stadium Freeway Boulevard study, a smaller Stadium Interchange, and potential Bus Rapid Transit funding on 27th street.
